The UMD Professional team has a wealth of experience as managers themselves, in addition to being management consultants, tutors and management trainers on UMD Professional's management courses.
Fiona Stuart-Wilson
Fiona is Managing Director of UMD Professional and an experienced senior manager within both the public and private sectors. As a trainer and consultant she has worked with many hundreds of dental practices over the last twenty years and was for eleven years Associate Editor of the British Dental Journal and series editor of a management book series. She has spoken widely at conferences internationally on business and management within dentistry and is a visiting lecturer at an international business school and a UK dental school on their MSc programme.
Mike Grace
Mike originally qualified as a dentist and his career also saw him involved in dental education at the London Hospital at King's London. Whilst Editor of the British Dental Journal for 14 years he championed the importance of effective management in dentistry and has been actively involved in management training for many years. He is now Senior Assessor for UMD Professional and also acts as tutor.
Roger Lilley
Roger is a highly experienced manager who worked for many years for a major multinational company, covering a range of senior management roles in Sales, Business Development and International Marketing. He provides sales and marketing consultancy to a variety of businesses and has in recent years worked with a number of dental practices. Roger is one of the senior tutors on UMD Professional's ILM management qualification courses.
John Shepherd
John is an experienced international trainer and facilitator with significant senior management experience across a range of sectors. He has worked with a large number of dental practices over the last twelve years and specializes in strategy, finance and people management issues.
Sandy Horvath
Sandy has extensive practical senior management experience, and hands-on training experience gained within private and public sector organizations. He has been working with dental practices for the last ten years in the arenas of communications and people management, and has authored a wide range of training and development programmes. Sandy is a tutor on the level 3 and 5 programmes.
Ian Barras-Hill
Ian is a highly experienced senior manager who combines an impressive background in international marketing with extensive consulting expertise in management and marketing, with a specialist interest in the professions and professional firms. As well as providing marketing consultancy Ian also acts as an assessor for the senior Institute of Leadership and Management qualifications.
Nigel Fenton
Nigel began his career working for a major trade association, in the development of standards for electronic business communications. He then spent many years working for a multinational FMCG manufacturer, and leading a team which developed best in class processes for managing change. More recently he has provided consultancy support and training on business processes and acts as an assessor for ILM qualifications.
